Well they are paying $0.44 for Q4. I think Petrobras will continue to pay $0.40 to $0.50 per quarter at current oil prices (call it a range of 70-90), and we will see if they pay the special dividend for 2023.
I have looked at YPF, but Argentina is too spicy for me. If they get things in order, YPF probably performs very well over the next 3-5 years.
It's in the camp for me now of being really cheap, but not stupidly cheap. I sold last week at $15 for 75% total returns. I'd just rather move on - the risk before was merely a threat and now it's tangible. Time to move on for me but was a fun ride.
It's definitely something I'm considering. If it looks like the capital return program is going to change or they will more aggressively pursue fake energy like wind and/or solar, I'll be moving on as well. If I do it will free up some money to put into Warrior Met Coal, which is starting to get very attractive again.
"Dubeux is currently the deputy executive secretary of the Finance Ministry and was responsible for drawing up and negotiating the ecological transition plan of the government of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva....
He will be appointed to strengthen Petrobras' green transition plan, the sources said.
The appointment comes after the country's Energy Minister, Alexandre Silveira, said on Monday he had invited the Finance Ministry to have a seat at the firm's board after a spat related to the payment of an extraordinary dividend."
Basically his ties to government show that it's unlikely he will be in favor of shareholder friendly policies.
Know this is up quite a bit recently and pays no dividend. What do you think of ypf?
Price reserves/ price cash flow etc. No Free cash since its going to Vaca Muerta.
