Videos Of The Week
A Video On The Big Picture Heading Into 2024 and Q&A with Rick Rule
I have been trying to catch up on videos this week, and I found a couple good ones that cover a wide range of topics. The first video covers everything from market dynamics to the macro picture, and was very informative. The second video is a Q&A session with Rick Rule, who has had a long and very successful career in the commodity sector. They cover the junior mining sector along with several other topics.
Value After Hours w/ Porter Collins and Vincent Daniel
This was my favorite video of the week and if I could recommend one this would be it. Porter Collins and Vincent Daniel run Seawolf Capital together, and they are very sharp when it comes to market dynamics and macroeconomics. They talk briefly about presidential election and some of the potential path that might take. I know that we have some time before the election news cycle gets into full swing, but so far the consensus on next year’s election is that it will be chaotic and messy (I tend to agree). They discuss the Federal Reserve and interest rates, a constant topic of focus in financial media. They also cover valuations (of broader markets as well as areas that are cheap), investment flows, and market dynamics that continue to have a greater impact than fundamentals.
“I think it’s one of the most confusing mixes of economy, markets, rates, and politics that I have ever seen.”
Palisades Gold Radio w/ Rick Rule
Rick Rule has had a long and very successful career in the commodity sector, and has expertise in everything from gold mining, oil and gas, to other commodities like uranium. They discuss the junior gold miners and the need for capital in the sector, which has a history of destroying investor capital over time, with brief spurts of massive returns in gold bull markets. He covers his rating system, which is a scale that talks about risk/reward and factors in jurisdiction, valuation, present value, and business upside. They also discuss Battle Bank, Rick’s “retirement” project, and his other investor bootcamp courses, which cover things like royalties or uranium.
