This week’s videos of the week don’t have a single investment theme, but instead look at big picture topics. The first video is on the Fourth Turning, with guest Neil Howe. His new book, The Fourth Turning Is Here, came out recently, and it is up next on my reading list. The second video (Tommy’s Podcast) is more focused on current events, politics, and some speculation on what is going on behind the scenes in Europe and Washington, D.C.
Wealthion - The Fourth Turning Is Here
For some background, William Strauss and Neil Howe wrote a book titled The Fourth Turning in 1997. Howe’s new book release is an update on what he has seen since then (I can’t talk about it too much since I haven’t read it yet), but I’m looking forward to reading it. The video discusses where the world could be heading, with things likely headed for chaos on the world stage as well as in financial markets. I tend to share his view that we are in for a bumpy ride as far as politics and financial markets go, but I also disagree with him on some of his views as well. Part of it I’m sure is the generational difference, but I have a different (more jaded view) of our political situation here in the US, while I’m very bullish on certain parts of financial markets.

Tommy’s Podcast w/ Tom Luongo, Dave Collum, and James Kuntsler
This one is a combination of some my favorite people to follow when it comes to financial markets, current events, politics, with a side of commentary (that often turns into comedy) on culture. They bounce all over the place, from Ukraine, interest rates, to energy. They also talk about the 2024 election, the divide in the Democratic Party (Clinton vs. Obama), and who might be on the ticket next year. Fair warning that the video is NSFW, but if you can deal with the occasional foul mouthed rant, this video is worth a watch.
