Why We Aren't Worried About Sable Pumping Oil
Over the last couple days, there has been a lot of talk about AB 1448 and the Petroleum Market Stabilization trailer bill, and what they mean for Sable Offshore SOC 0.00%↑. We believe the trailer bill is the main reason for yesterday’s large selloff, primarily due to the fact that it would go into effect immediately if passed. There is a lot of uncertainty about what that could mean for the Fire Marshal approval, and the timeline there. There are several reasons that we believe the Petroleum Market Stabilization trailer bill will not be passed, and while AB 1448 is more likely to make it through, it wouldn’t even go into effect until January 1, 2026.
