Some Reading On The Conflict In The Middle East, A Podcast On The Commodities Universe & A Look At How Artificial Intelligence Could Change Things
I’m going to keep it quick this weekend since I have been on the road. I had a bunch of time to catch up with podcasts on the plane on Thursday, and a couple stood out as worth sharing. I also wanted to highlight
’s four part post on what is going on in the Middle East right now. Meaning In History is definitely worth a follow for anyone trying to stay up to speed on the day to day geopolitical changes. I have included a screenshot below with a couple interesting pieces from Part 1.Super Investors w/ Lee Goehring
This one was my favorite podcast of the last week covering financial markets and commodities. Lee Goehring of Goehring & Rozencwagj was the guest, and they covered everything from precious metals and energy to potential changes on the horizon for the whole financial system. They talked a bit about the history of the gold to oil ratio, where we stand today, and why they are very bullish on energy, particularly oil, from now until the end of the decade. If you interested in the precious metals, including platinum, or what the future might hold for the energy sector, you will like this one.
The Business Brew w/ Andrew Freedman
If you’re interested in artificial intelligence, this podcast will definitely give you a lot to think about. I’m not a huge believer that language learning models will eventually develop into artificial general intelligence, but this podcast has me thinking about my views on how useful AI might be to my process. They talked about using AI to code, how it impacts their investing process, and several other changes on the horizon due to the arms race going on right now in language learning models. At least for now, there are a couple major flaws that prevent me from using it frequently, but I will be forcing myself to keep an open mind on how it might be useful in the future.
