I only have one podcast this week, but it is a good one. I will have a couple more posts later this week, but the next month or so will be hectic since I’m moving. I wish I had a podcast on some of the events going on with Russia right now, but I’m not going to speculate now because but I’m skeptical on anything that starts circulating on the major news outlets. If I see a good breakdown I might include it with next week’s podcast/videos of the week post.

Gold Goats n’ Guns - Richard Poe and the Reach of Perfidious Albion

Tom Luongo is one of my favorites, and his recent Gold Goats n’ Guns podcast covered the influence of the British over the last several centuries. If you are interested in some of the topics they talk about in the podcast, you can read about it here on Richard Poe’s Substack. They talk about the British influence around the world (which still exists today), in geopolitics as well as finance. The caricature below is a picture of Perfidious Albion (perfidious is another way to say treacherous), but the best caricatures have more than a bit of truth to them.

This one might not be directly related to some of the investments I’m making today, but I have always been fascinated by history, especially the version of history that you don’t get from the textbooks. I have always been skeptical of the accepted view of things, and that has only solidified in the last couple years. Podcasts like this one might be the start of something similar for readers. If you have the time and enjoy history as well, this one will be right up your alley.
