Podcast & Video Of The Week
My Appearance on The Pete Quiñones Show & Food For Thought On Different Long Term Trends
First of all, I would like to thank all the new subs over the last week. I appreciate the support from all of you, and I hope to be doing this for a long time. I wanted to share a couple podcasts with everyone, including my own appearance on The Pete Quiñones Show. I very rarely listen to my own podcasts outside of editing them, but I’m still thinking about some of the things Stormy Waters said during our conversation with
. I’m definitely looking forward to having Stormy and Pete back on my podcast, hopefully in the near future. There are a couple other things that I’m looking forward to this week, but readers will have to wait and see what’s coming. The Pete Quiñones Show w/ Stormy Waters & Yours Truly
Last week I went on The Pete Quiñones Show, along with Stormy Waters, to talk about some of the different things going on in the world today. We both have views that are pretty far outside of the consensus when it comes to markets and politics. We spent most of our time talking about different secular trends, from the next wave of the commodities cycle, to gold’s role when comes to counterparty risk at the sovereign level. We also talked about our expectations for a rough stretch ahead for real estate, with double digit interest rates by the end of the decade.
We covered some of Stormy’s different investment ideas outside of public markets, from old appliances that are bulletproof, to CNC machines and other industrial equipment. Stormy also brought up the influence of financial media in chaotic markets, like we saw with the tariff selloff in April, and their motivations for pushing the recession narrative. There are still several things from our conversation rattling around my head, but I think it’s worth a listen.
The Hundred Year Pivot w/ Russell Napier
This is a relatively new series hosted by Grant Williams and Demetri Kofinas, but I recently listened to their podcast with Russell Napier, and it was one of the more thought provoking podcasts I listened to last week. They talked about different long term trends, from what is going on with geopolitics to what is going on with interest rates. They also talked gold, commodities, and financial markets. This pod isn’t just focused on the very near term in markets, but what they think might happen over the next five to ten years. You will definitely get some food for thought from this one.
