Videos Of The Week
The Yen Carry Trade And The Dollar Milkshake & A Look At Geopolitics And Immigration
This week I have a couple interesting videos for you guys. The first talks about some of the recent events with the selloff around the Yen carry trade and how assets and currencies interact and some of the potential paths for markets from here. The second video covers geopolitics, immigration, and some of the things going on in different parts of the world. Also, if you didn’t get enough of my pontificating about the current state of the world with my post last week, I went on the Coffee And A Mike podcast a couple days ago to talk a bit about my thoughts on the current situation, and where we might be headed in coming years and decades.
Forward Guidance w/ Brent Johnson
If you want some color around the recent Yen carry trade unwind, you will find this video interesting. Brent has gained some notoriety for the dollar milkshake theory, and I think he is very sharp in looking at some of the crosscurrents between currencies, commodities, and other asset classes. Some of the turbulence in markets over the last couple weeks was interesting to watch, but this video might help pull on some threads on the ties between different currencies and assets.
UPThinking Finance w/ John Waters & Alex Krainer
This video ties in a bit with my post from last week. We are living in interesting times, and they break down some of the current events going on across the world. They discuss immigration in countries across Europe, including Ireland and England. They also cover some the influential factions behind the scenes, and what could be coming over the next couple years. Financial markets take a backseat to geopolitics in this video, but it was one of the most interesting videos I have watched in the last week.
Thanks Ben.
Alex and John are very good communicators of geo politics.
John appears several times a year on The Richie Allen show, he’s a brave man as he regularly takes the state head on
