Planning To Shift The Portfolio
Some Holdings I'm Looking To Exit & Where I'm Planning To Reinvest
I have a couple random things to talk about before getting into today’s post. The Monster MNST 0.00%↑ tender offer went through, and I decided to pass on the Talen tender offer. I did look at some of the terms, but I did drop a link to the terms of the offer for anyone that is interested. Now we get into the comic relief portion of the post. Nancy Pelosi, everyone’s favorite former Speaker of the House, has had a rough week so far.
There was some interesting footage that leaked with some of her comments on January 6th around having the National Guard there, followed by an almost immediate appearance on MSNBC. I wouldn’t bother writing about that, except for the fact that Tuttle Capital piled on and announced that they are launching the Congressional Trading ETF with the ticker NPEL. It will be interesting to see if they can buy a bunch of conveniently timed calls like Pelosi has in the past, but a lot of congressmen with insider information have outperformed the S&P and hedge funds for years. If we were smart, trading on this information would be illegal for congressmen, but we are in the “loot the treasury” stage, so I guess it’s par for the course.
One a more serious note, I have been looking at the portfolio and thinking about making some changes. This post won’t exactly be a trade update, since I haven’t pulled the trigger on some of the sales I’m considering yet. I will be laying out what I’m thinking about selling, what I’m thinking about buying, and the direction I plan to move the portfolio in over the next couple months.
